Configuration Setup Guide
In Manage, go to Companies>Configurations
Click the + sign to add a new item
For Configuration name, label it as “Location Number City DVR Setup”
Examples: “AL042 Dothan DVR Setup” for Tropical Smoothie or “CD351465 Bremen DVR Setup” for Captain D’s
Configuration Details:
Type: DVR Setup
SLA: Standard SLA
You will need to log in to the DVR to get almost all of the following information. Typically, you will log in through the Hik-Connect website, but there are some other manufacturers of course. Just do the best you can and ask me about the ones you can’t figure out so we can go through them.
Here’s an example of AL042. This is the page you will see after logging in. Click on Configuration here to get into the details.
Manufacturer: Hikvision, Digital Watchdog, LTS are the most typical. Some of the older DVRs in Florida are LTS but they will show up as Hikvision. You will be able to tell as soon as you log in to the DVR. LTS is going to say Platinum instead of Hikvision at the login screen.
In our example here, the Mfg Part #: would be DS-7216HGHI-SH
Model Number: This will most often be the exact same thing as the Mfg Part #
Serial Number: This will be the 9 digit number right before the WCVU, not the full serial number as listed above. This 9 digit number also shows up in Hik-Connect, and it is how they are placed in order on Hik-Connect.
Notice in this screenshot from Hik-Connect that the Dothan serial number is listed as 669367409 which matches the serial number listing leading right up to the WCVU.
Tag Number: This is where I want the entire line labeled on Hikvision as “Serial No.” In our example, that would be DS-7216HGHI-SH1620161103AAWR669367409WCVU
Notice that it actually has the model number at the beginning, then a bunch of digits, then the 9 digit serial number after some letters, and finally WCVU at the end.
You can pretty much ignore the rest of the Configuration Details section. You just aren’t going to know what the install date was, purchase date, etc. We’ll be filling those in as new sites come on board, but it might take more digging than it’s worth for me to track down all of the existing dates.
Company
This information will be just like you are used to with tickets, etc.
Configuration Questions:
The 1st 4 questions are also going to be taken from that same DVR Configuration>Device Information section. Other than the Firmware Version, you’ve already entered the other information. Always use the 9 digit number as the serial number, not the full listed number.
Questions 5 & 6 deal with the time. We need to check the time zone as well as the time, and make sure they are correct.
